It’s really a surprise (good) to us that we found really decent authentic food at Otani VA in Fredericksburg while almost every friend told me the best Japanese food is in Fredericksburg (we tried 2 restaurants with 4.5+ rate, neither impressed us). Now, I’ll have to disagree with them. The most precious matter we enjoyed is the detail attention the chef dedicated to the food.
Very good Japanese restaurant. Came with friends and binged out on spicy rice noodle dishes. Don’t know about the service complaints from some others. Come on 1 star service was bad but the food was great. Don’t believe them. Truth, they are busy and are packed on the cold day. Bit that is due to the popularity of their spicy dishes. Don’t believe me, try it for your self. One more recommendation, and this is for all the non Japanese of us. Order the authentic Japanese dishes. Forget the General Tsou Chicken. This is only created for foreigners.
Ate here for lunch and ordered off the lunch special... Wanted some veggies and had the Chicken with mixed vegetables. Was just OK. Also ordered the pork soup dumplings. Skin was thick and it tasted average. I guess it depends heavily on what you order.
